In summer, everything is riskier. Whether you are the type to venture into the depths of the Amazon rainforest (well dressed in your Hast shirt) or you would prefer the thrill of a good barbecue/rosé, between the heat and evenings with friends, it is advisable to pay extra attention to the care of your shirt in summer. A brief overview of the different situations and our solutions.
Perspiration
At the armpit level
The problem: It's difficult to stay dry when it's over 30°C in the shade! While sweating is a natural action of the body that helps regulate your internal temperature, it can also damage your shirts in the long term.
The solution ? Often, the marks that appear under the armpits are due to the reaction between our sweat and the chemical components of deodorants. To prevent your clothes from wearing out too quickly, it is therefore advisable to opt for a deodorant without aluminum salts.
Another simple tip: let your deodorant dry before putting on your shirt! This will therefore not be in direct contact with the fabric.
Finally, we recommend that you do not wait too long before washing your shirts after a hot day: the marks will then have less time to set.
At the collar
The problem: It is not because this part is not visible that it should not be maintained! And if the arms are a problem for most of us, the perspiration clearly tarnishes the inside of the collar.
The solution ? Whether for the armpits or the collar, you can try applying sorrel salt or white vinegar directly to the damaged areas, both known for their whitening properties, without damaging the cotton.
Tasks
In life, and more particularly in summer, we are not immune to staining our beautiful, immaculate shirt . Whether it's during a simple lunch with friends, an aperitif dinner or in the morning when you wake up, with a good coffee or a slice of homemade jam!
As a general rule, if you stain your shirt and notice it immediately, there is one thing to know: take a sponge and very hot water and gently dab on the stain. Above all, do not rub too much and do not use soap or stain remover: this could discolor the fabric and thus create an irreversible whitish stain.
This technique works on all types of stains except blood, which will wash off with cold water!
But how to remove an encrusted stain?
Here are some tips for the most common tasks. These solutions do not guarantee their disappearance but should at least reduce their visibility.
Coffee
The problem: Often, when we need a coffee, we are tired... a task quickly arrives!
The solution ? Rinsing the fabric with cold water is an effective method. Otherwise, put a little Sommières earth on the stain for 1 to 2 hours, then remove the powder before washing.
The fat
The problem: Finally, in summer, we are often faced with fatty products, even if we pay more attention to our figure!
The solution ? Gently rub the stain with a clean cloth and clear dishwashing liquid. Then wash the shirt in lukewarm water. Sommières soil can also be a good, more ecological alternative.
Wine
The problem: After a few glasses, the effect of the wine is felt and it quickly becomes difficult to control your enthusiasm...
The solution ? Immediately cover the stain with salt to absorb the wine. Rinse with warm water before washing as normal. Also works for red fruits.
GOOD HOLIDAYS ! Lots of things await you at the start of the school year and we will still be available in August to serve you!
