French collar shirts
If Hast has shaken up traditional fashion, it is because at the center of our fashion proposition, there is a bias. Thus, we wanted to adapt classics of the men's wardrobe - like here the famous French collar - to give them a new face in terms of style, but also in terms of changing consumption patterns. This is why we have chosen to reduce the number of intermediaries as much as possible to reduce overvalued margins and offer you timeless pieces like the French collar shirt at an honest price. The French collar: how to recognize it? There are usually around ten different collars in ready-to-wear, but in reality there are many more, from many cultures and eras, to choose from. Some, like mandarin collars , officer collars or buttoned collars are worn without a tie; others, like the wing collar, are considered very formal. Along with the English and semi-cutaway collars, the French collar is one of the best known and most used collars. This has a fairly light collar opening, which tends to slim the face and whose length lends itself to any type of tie or bow tie. The French collar shirt – also rightly called a classic collar – is therefore a must-have in the men's wardrobe, recommended for all body shapes, all neck lengths, and in all circumstances. A pass and a French appellation It should be noted that this definition differs considerably depending on the culture. In English, we call the semi-cutaway collar “French collar” and the cutaway collar “extreme-cutaway collar”. Formal or casual style? The men's shirt with a French collar can be worn in everyday life as well as in the office. In the first case, you can easily combine it with a wool sweater or a work jacket , or simply wear it alone, with the first button open, for a casual style. For a more business style, it is also possible to wear the French collar shirt with a suit jacket. Either way, you can't go wrong with the French collar. However, we will be careful to avoid tie knots that are too bulky, which will go a little better with English or semi-cutaway collars, with a wider opening, and favor a medium or small sized knot.
